What is Open jar?
Open jar is a Broadway’s musical theatre intensive that provides one-on-one training with Broadway's best stars, performers, directors, choreographers, agents and casting directors.
Recently upon an audition, a Broadway Professional Teaching Artist Angelique Ilo invited me to participate in an intensive at "Open Jar" in New York City, working alongside Broadway Artists to enhance my skills and pursue a career in the arts. Despite my initial aspirations which are on a brief hold, signs are currently pointing me towards this artistic path, and I've decided to embrace the adventure. This could be a huge boost in any career I dive into as it can serve as a great reference to my resume and could even be a jumpstart into my artistic career. However, the financial hurdles to reach Open Jar are significant for me to do alone.
Who am I?
My name is Brandall Kearse born and raised in a small town called Palatka Florida. I graduated highschool with my A.A. Degree, went to Valdosta State University where I received a Bachelors of Arts in General Biology, and was granted a scholarship to attend Florida school of the arts in Palatka Florida for Musical Theatre. I currently live with my mom and younger brother and work at the Arc of Putnam and 386 Nutrition!
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I am currently financially assisting my mother with bills and supporting my family while trying to continue in my education and career endeavors.
When and How can you help?
The Musical Intensive will occur over the summer in NYC and I am truly asking for any contribution, sponsorship, or donations in helping assist me financially during this season in life. The overall amount I am asking includes: housing (week long), transportations fees (to and from), 3-meals per day (week long), studio/workshop/professional lessons fee, and tickets to 3 broadway performances.
“I truly am grateful for anyone who can contribute to this amazing opportunity as it is a big ask of me. Thank you all in advance”
God Bless,
-Brandall Kearse
