Hi, my name is Katera, and I’m a single mom to the most incredible little boy—Tyler. He’s 8 years old, autistic, and full of light. Tyler is curious, funny, affectionate, and endlessly creative. He’s also preverbal and has intellectual delays that require more support than the public school system is currently able to provide.

I’m starting this GoFundMe because Tyler deserves a chance to thrive in an environment that truly sees and supports him. I’ve found a private school that offers the individualized learning, therapeutic support, and compassionate structure that Tyler desperately needs—but we can’t get there without help.

Despite working full-time and doing everything I can, I’m just above the income line for traditional assistance, and that disqualifies us from many forms of financial aid. I currently juggle working multiple jobs, managing Tyler’s daily therapies, advocating for his needs, and homeschooling when necessary—because I will always do whatever it takes for him.

But now, I’m asking for help because I can’t do this next step alone.

The funds raised will go toward:

• Private school tuition

• Support for Tyler’s RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) to attend school with him

• Educational materials, supplies, and accommodations

• Transportation costs

• Supplemental at-home learning tools and communication devices

Right now, Tyler is in a classroom that isn’t built for his needs. His communication is limited, and while he works hard every day, the lack of resources and one-on-one attention is holding him back. This new school would allow Tyler to:

• Have a dedicated learning plan tailored to his needs

• Receive daily support from someone trained to help him communicate

• Be surrounded by educators who are trauma-informed, autism-aware, and neurodivergent-friendly

• Grow not just academically, but emotionally and socially

I truly believe Tyler can thrive. He just needs a door opened. You can help me open that door.
