For 12 years, Claudine Mossberg, founder and owner of Outdoor Play Connection (OPC), has created opportunities for children to learn, play, and build a lasting connection with nature. For the past four years, OPC has operated with permission at Eagle Rock Reservation, serving children and families throughout Essex County and beyond.

Now, that work is at risk.

Essex County has abruptly ended OPC’s access to Eagle Rock Reservation without providing a reason or explanation. To work toward restoring access, Claudine needs legal representation.

As the owner and creator of OPC, Claudine runs the business herself, and the cost of legal representation is expensive, but necessary. We are asking the community to help cover these expenses so that she can advocate for OPC and the children and families who depend on this program.

Eagle Rock is more than a program location. It is a place where children have built confidence, independence, friendships, and a lasting connection to nature. OPC also gives back to the reservation by cleaning up litter, reporting hazards, clearing trails, and teaching children to care for the land.

Funds raised will cover Claudine's legal fees, with any remaining funds going toward scholarships to make OPC more accessible and bring more children into the forest.
