Lieve mensen,

Mijn naam is Barbara en samen met mijn kinderen, Eliza en Thibault, leefden wij het afgelopen jaar in een mobilehome. We doen aan lifescholing/unscholing, trokken rond, leefden dicht bij de natuur en genoten van de vrijheid. Dit was geen vakantie dit was onze levensstijl, die wij heel graag opnieuw willen herpakken.

Na een zware periode met gezondheidsproblemen (waaronder een darmoperatie en stoma), mentale uitputting en een relatiebreuk — besloot ik een jaar geleden om ons leven om te gooien. Voor onze mentale gezondheid en die van de kinderen. We vertrokken, met weinig geld maar met een groot hart.

We kochten een tweedehands mobilehome, maakten het gezellig, warm en veilig. We waren aan het helen. Tot op 22 juni 2025.

Onze mobilehome is volledig uitgebrand. Alles is weg. Kleding, spullen, herinneringen… maar vooral: ons veilige huisje op wielen. En omdat de mobilehome als oldtimer verzekerd was, heeft de verzekering helaas lang niet alles kunnen dekken. Daardoor staan we nu met lege handen.

Daarom vraag ik, met een gebroken maar hoopvol hart, om jullie hulp.

Ons grootste verlangen is opnieuw te beginnen: een nieuwe (of tweedehands) mobilehome kopen, zodat we terug kunnen leven, leren en reizen zoals we dat deden. Terug een thuis op wielen.

Dear friends,

My name is Barbara, and together with my children, Eliza and Thibault, we spent the past year living in a mobile home. We practiced life schooling/unschooling, traveled around, lived close to nature, and enjoyed the freedom. This wasn’t a vacation — it was our lifestyle, one that we deeply wish to continue.

After a difficult period with health problems (including intestinal surgery and a stoma), mental exhaustion, and a breakup I decided a year ago to completely change our lives, for the sake of our mental health and that of the children. We left with little money but big hearts.

We bought a second-hand mobile home, made it cozy, warm, and safe. We were healing. Until June 22, 2025.

Our mobile home was completely destroyed by fire. Everything is gone: clothing, belongings, memories… and above all, our safe home on wheels. Unfortunately, because the mobile home was insured as a classic vehicle, the insurance could not cover everything. Now we are left with nothing.

With a broken but hopeful heart, I am asking for your help.

Our greatest wish is to start again: to buy a new (or second-hand) mobile home so we can live, learn, and travel as we did before to have a home on wheels once more.
