Meet Onyx

Onyx was found alone on the streets of Bali as a tiny puppy, trying to survive in conditions no dog should have to. Like so many street dogs here, he was born into a life of uncertainty — dangerous roads, sickness, starvation, abuse, and the constant risk of being poisoned or injured.

When I found him, he was just a baby. Since then, I’ve been fostering him, getting him safe, fed, loved, and cared for while trying to give him the chance at the life he deserves. He’s grown into the sweetest, funniest, most loving dog with so much personality and so much love to give.

A lot of people assume it’s best for Bali dogs to stay in Bali, but the reality is heartbreaking. It is incredibly difficult to find safe, permanent homes here, especially for mixed street dogs. Even dogs that are cared for often end up back on the streets. The shelters are overwhelmed, rescues are exhausted, and there are simply not enough adopters.

The best chance for Onyx is getting him out of Bali and to Canada, where he will have safety, stability, and the opportunity to finally find his forever home. He already has support waiting for him there — now we just need help getting him there safely.

Unfortunately, relocating rescue dogs internationally is extremely expensive. Costs include:

• vaccinations

• sterilization

• health checks and bloodwork

• boarding and foster care

• export paperwork

• airline-approved travel crate

• cargo and flight fees

• transportation and relocation costs
