My name is Chyenne and I’m reaching out to ask for some support for my beautiful 22-month-old nephew, Onyx, who has recently been diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma.

Neuroblastoma is a rare and aggressive childhood cancer that mainly affects children under five. It is very rare, affecting around 1 in 100,000 children.

This all started with what looked like a small bump on Onyx’s forehead. His parents took him to the doctor and were told it was thought to be from a fall. However, the lump continued to grow, and when it became noticeably bigger, they took him back to the doctor.
On 4th September, Onyx was urgently referred to hospital where he had CT and MRI scans. The scans showed multiple tumours, including tumours in his head, along his spine and on his adrenal gland.
On 7th September he had a biopsy, and the very next day, on 8th September, he started chemotherapy. The biopsy confirmed high-risk neuroblastoma, which has already spread to his bone marrow. One of the tumours in his head is also pushing against his brain.

In such a short time, Onyx has already been through so much. He has had a central line inserted, blood transfusions and has just finished his first round of chemotherapy. He will need multiple rounds of chemotherapy, as well as stem cell harvesting, surgery and radiation. He will also need regular tests including hearing tests and heart scans throughout his treatment.

At just 22 months old, he has already had to face more than any child should. His family are doing everything they can to be there for him and give him the best chance possible.

His treatment will also put a huge financial strain on the family. Onyx has siblings at home and his parents are expecting a newborn baby. His dad will need to take time away from work to help support the family while Onyx is at hospital, appointments and treatment.

I’ve created this fundraiser to help take some of that financial pressure off the family so they can focus on Onyx.
Funds raised will help with:
❤️ Travel to and from hospital
❤️ Food and everyday expenses during hospital stays
❤️ Loss of income while his dad is away from work
❤️ Any unexpected expenses throughout Onyx’s treatment

Every donation, no matter how small, will help give the family some breathing room during what will be a long and difficult journey.
If you can’t donate, sharing the fundraiser is just as helpful and means so much to us.
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read Onyx’s story, donate, share or simply keep him and his family in your thoughts. ❤️

We love you, Onyx. ❤️
