Kelly's Internship

What's up y'all!

My name is Kelly McCarthy, and I believe God has a plan and a purpose for everyone.

For my WHOLE LIFE, I believed that life was so simple. Why does everyone stress over what they want to do when they grow up? You pick what you're good at, do it a lot, and make $$$$. Easy. I have always loved music. I remember getting my "recorder black belt" third in my class in the 4th grade (no biggie). That was the first sign right? I'm good at it; I should pursue it.

Fast forward 9 years.

I get invited to an Easter play at a church where I encounter the love of God and the power of the Holy Spirit for the first time in my life.

"This is cool, now Jesus can help me reach my goals."

Sorta.

About eight months ago, my life got flipped-turned upside-down by God's calling on my life. It was so clear. I wasn't worshipping, I wasn't praying. I was just sitting.

"You're called to pastor" He said it so matter-of-fact.

The nerve.

"Uh, that's weird, Lord, because, uh, you and me both know I'm supposed to be a music teacher. Both of us...right?"

"You're called to pastor" He said it again.

Sacrificing something that you love for the God who loves you more is the hardest easy thing you'll ever do.

Since that moment, the Lord has patiently guided me in laying down my crowns - a full-ride scholarship to the UA for music, my pride and my talents, the list goes on.

But this is my calling, and this is my God.

The EDGE Internship is a three year ministry and discipleship internship, designed to help young adults become all that God wants them to become; and is a step I'm set on taking toward my future.

So, I ask you to pray with me and to prayerfully consider contributing to the cost of my tuition. Whatever God lays on your heart.

And I encourage each and every one of you to seek after God and His UNBELIEVABLE calling on your own life.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" (Jeremiah 29:11)

"For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." (Romans 11:29)
