In Loving Memory of Onsi Lam
I’m Chrissie Lam, Onsi’s daughter. My beloved father passed away peacefully at home on August 27, 2025, after succumbing to extensive injuries from a tragic car accident near our home on July 10. Our family is devastated and heartbroken to lose such a kindhearted, gentle, and loving soul so suddenly.
To honor his life, we want to create a memorial that truly reflects who he was and what he loved. My father cherished his home and the beauty of nature. He cared for the land and all the animals who visited—deer, birds, turkeys, even the smallest creatures were safe in his presence.
We plan to build a memorial hillside sitting area, overlooking the beautiful views of Mt. Diablo—a place for peaceful contemplation, just as his name “Onsi” means. His last name, Lam, translates to “forest” with the symbol of two trees . We plan to incorporate this into the memorial design—two trees standing together as a symbol of his legacy of strength, love, and harmony with nature.
As children, some of our fondest memories were sharing Gong Fu Cha tea ceremonies with him, so we also hope to incorporate a small tea house to keep that tradition alive and honor his love for mindfulness and presence.
This space will be a sanctuary for family, friends, and future generations to gather, reflect, and feel his spirit in the beauty of nature he loved so deeply.
We are grateful for any support you can offer to help us create this meaningful place of remembrance and peace.
With love and gratitude,
