One Note Stand Goes to BOSS 2019!

One Note Stand (ONS) is a nationally competitive co-ed a cappella group from The University of Texas at Austin. We are currently preparing to attend and possibly compete in BOSS, a national a cappella competition in Boston, Massachusetts. We've already put together some incredible music and can't wait to share it with the a cappella community, but we need YOUR HELP to get there!
ABOUT ONS
For the past 10 years, our group has been working and challenging ourselves to share quality music while giving back to the Austin community. We ultimately hope to make an impact on both Texas and national collegiate a cappella with our unique style of music and our ability to take our audiences on an emotional journey! Some of our significant accomplishments include:
- Competing in Boston Sings (BOSS) in 2015 and 2017
- Placing 1st in the 2018 International Collegiate Championships of Acappella (ICCA) Quarterfinal & receiving the Best Choreography award
- Placing 2nd in the 2018 ICCA Southwest Semifinal & receiving the Best Choreography award
- Placing 2nd in the 2018 ICCA Wildcard (making us 11th place in the entire competition overall!)
- Being the first Texas a cappella group to compete in the SoJam A Cappella Festival
- Placing 4th in the 2016 ICCA Southwest Semifinal in our first year competing in ICCA
- Releasing our second album entitled "Yours" last year
- Having our song "Shape of You" featured in the Best of College A Cappella (BOCA) 2018 Album
- Having our song "Latch" featured in the Best of College A Cappella (BOCA) 2017 Album
- Having our song "Shape of You" featured in the Voices Only 2018, Vol. 1 Album
- Having our song "My Everything" featured on Voices Only 2017 Album
- Receiving nominations from the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARA) for Best Electronic/Experimental Song and Best Mixed Collegiate Album
- Having our album chosen by the Recorded A Cappella Review Board (RARB) as one of their 2017 Best Album picks
Currently, we are also working on several different community projects, recording a new album, performing at gigs, and continually working to perfect our competition sets and repertoire!
HOW YOUR DONATION WILL BE USED
To attend this competition, we need to secure airfare, housing, transportation, and other expenses associated with the competition for our 14 members. We will also put some money toward recording, mixing, and producing our third album, setting up future community projects, outreach, and creating a more successful environment for the acappella community!
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Despite the big plans, we don't currently have the funds to follow through on all of our goals for this year! We will be choosing 10 lucky donors at random (above $50) to receive an exclusive download of our next single "Conscious"!

FINAL THOUGHTS
Earlier this year, we worked with other a cappella groups on campus to donate to Hurricane Harvey relief and have worked on creating projects that show the importance of acceptance and being yourself, as well as inciting social change.
We truly believe that our group is special, and we always give everything we have on stage. While rehearsing, we feel like all of our hard work is going to pay off, and we had never been more proud of ourselves and our work ethic! We are constantly working on ways to improve, reach people, and to create a meaningful bond through the incredible impact music has on individuals around the world. We are so grateful and excited for another opportunity to share our passion at BOSS 2019!
