Long-term medically-necessary resources

Hi friend, I'm Diana, Peter's wife. I'm humbly reaching out to you, fundraising for some items we think will be game changers for Peter's health management. If you've read some of his posts, then you know since 2020 he has faced significant health challenges stemming from his lung resection, his Chronic Heart Failure (CHF), and chronic pain in his neck and back. He has battled decreased lung capacity, diastolic dysfunction (affecting his heart's ability to fill with blood to capacity - causing fluid build up in his lungs, heart, hands, and legs), and shortness of breath. He has been diligent to pursue every avenue of healing! In May, he had a stent put in which was helpful, but we were puzzled at his ongoing symptoms not relieved by the procedure. He has been to a number of specialists in pursuit of answers.

Some effective modalities: a modified diet and cardiac rehab to which he goes 3x a week. He has also found relief through a zero gravity, medical-grade therapeutic massage chair a friend has invited him to try. We really think this would help with spinal pain management, and elevating/stimulating legs in order to reduce fluid buildup in the heart/lungs and damming up in his hands, arms, and legs.

A second resource we think would help is a split mattress which elevates to support sleeping and would help mitigate the symptoms caused by his CHF, and Diastolic Dysfunction.

I have set aside a modest sum - but these items are truly expensive and would take me some time to get there. It's notable to mention that since Peter underwent cancer at a young age, has not been able to qualify for disability insurance! It makes purchasing these expensive items challenging as Peter's health has greatly diminished his ability to work.

So I'm thinking of our wonderful friends, wondering if for Peter's birthday coming up in November, we could make this a reality! He is turning 55! If lots of friends gave $55 towards this goal, we can get there! So many of you have asked us how you can support him during this time. This would be simply amazing.
