In the fall of 2025 prenatal testing gave us the news that our 4th little bundle of joy was going to be born with a chromosomal abnormality called Trisomy 21, commonly known as Down Syndrome. We have embraced this diagnosis and are so excited to welcome our special little guy to the family in February 2026.

On December 3rd scans showed slowed growth rates and abnormal blood flow along the umbilical cord. Baby and momma were admitted to the hospital for a couple days for monitoring and steroids. They are happily home now but going forward they will have to be monitored very closely by numerous specialists.

With this comes increased expenses: medical copays, travel expenses, out of pocket prescription costs, extra food expenses to keep momma's gestational diabetes under control when the medicine throws her glucose numbers out of whack, etc. Not to mention momma usually runs the sales side of our online business and this is a very busy time of year for that! So we're expecting some lost revenue along with increased expenses.

Our goal is to keep this little turkey cooking where he belongs as long as possible! We have set a lofty fundraising goal to help us stay on top of all the unknowns as we progress on this journey.
