On Sunday June 25th, on her way to church, Shannon was hit by an oncoming car which made a left hand turn on a red light, resulting in a head on collision.
Her car was totaled, and she suffered many broken bones. She broke her right arm, her left fibula & her left ankle, her right fibula and crushed her right foot. She will need surgery on her right foot/leg & possibly more. She is currently double casted on her legs and one cast on her arm. Shannon is currently living with me (her daughter) as she is non weight-bearing and cannot live on her own to care for herself.
Because of her condition, she is unable to work- due to no fault of her own. She loved being a Nanny to an amazing 3 year old and she loved caring for this particular little girl since she was 6 weeks old.
This is a tremendous loss for Shannon the future is very uncertain with such a long & difficult recovery ahead of her.
As she is trying to come to terms with this drastic new reality, those who love her have decided to set up a fundraiser on her behalf to attempt to alleviate some of the stress this situation has caused.
The costs of her recovery will be extensive and with so many people asking for a way to help, this fundraising effort seemed provide a way for friends and family, near and far, to contribute. Even the smallest donation will lighten the burden for Shannon in the weeks and months ahead.
Thank you so much for joining us in our effort to bless Shannon during this very trying and difficult time. She is so loved and truly deserving of the opportunity to focus on her health and recovery.
