One-Year-Old's Home Unlivable from Smoke
Donation protected
I've been resistant to starting one of these because our home is somehow still standing. However, over the last few weeks we have learned that we most likely have to throw out the majority of our stuff because of the toxic particulates in the smoke. It's a weird grey area, and we may end up losing most of our belongings now regardless.
The area is toxic and dangerous. There is an estimate of at least a year before we could even live there again. So we are going to move.
My main goal is setting up our new home so my one year old son Aleksander is safe and happy. His daycare burned down and I want to find him stability again as soon as I can.
My insurance is ghosting me and I don't have many answers right now. I am going to rent a storage unit and try to save a few important things and have them cleaned professionally later. But largely, we are buying everything over again at this point.
I know there is probably a lot of compassion fatigue right now, but if you want to help, we would appreciate it.
