 "Our Mission"

One World Hip Hop is an organization that facilitates and engages in cultural exchange around the world. We do this by connecting a select group of professional American Hip Hop artists with youth, communities, and local artist in other countries. Each member of One World Hip Hop embodies one or more of the five elements of Hip Hop Culture, which include DJ/Music Production, break dancing aka Bboying/Bgirling, Graffiti art, MCing, and Knowledge/History. Our goal is to spread creativity and communication across lines of class, race and nationality. One World Hip Hop is proud to have driven artists who are relevant in the local and international community of Hip Hop culture.

"Our Story"

Our story started to blossom when founders Jeremiah Buren and Steve Flores were on a tour with CONTRA-TIEMPO in South America representing the United States on an Arts Envoy Project. Buren and Flores had a moment of realization after they taught their respective workshops that Hip Hop was contagious. Everyone who took their class had a different type of energy and smile to them. More had to be explored. This was only the beginning. A brotherhood emerged and so did a company. After successfully acquiring a grant, they solidified the team to include graffiti arts and bboys (Gilyon Wiley Brace-Wessel and Stephen Velasquez) and Hip Hop Arts Educator and Cultural Exchange Specialist (Valerie Hwang). Together they crafted the program that would be utilized in their first engagement, which consist of site-specific mural art, dance workshops, performances, and community outreach.

 "Our Philosophy"

Our objective is to provide an artistic outlet for today's youth and to inspire as many individuals to further their dreams through the demonstration, collaboration, and sharing of Hip Hop Culture. As American artist and dancers we share our background and diverse experiences with the communities we engage. In turn they share with us and broaden our knowledge of Hip Hop and culture. This exchange is tremendously powerful, especially in gifting the youth with tools of expression and self-empowerment.

"What We Offer"

·      Workshops that cover one or more of the five elements of Hip Hop for underprivileged groups and participants interested in the Hip Hop Culture.

 " Guayaquil, Ecuador 2015"

In October of 2015, One World Hip Hop was selected to be apart of an arts envoy project that was conducted in Guayaquil, Ecuador. For 11 days we conducted workshops, outreach events and performances for different communities in Guayaquil. Through the program, we were able to represent a significant and accessible aspect of American culture and build lasting impressions on participants of all ages and backgrounds. The engagements of these workshops allowed the participants to fully immerse themselves in Hip Hop culture. Through collaboration with the students we created murals, and taught workshops on the foundations of Hip Hop, House, Stepping, and Bboying/Bgirling. At the end of each workshop we asked the students to express themselves with how they felt at the culmination of the workshop in one word. Students left impressions of feeling "Strength, Flavor, Power, Freedom and Joy."

 "Tellings Stories Through Dance"

We generated a complete performance by using stories and issues such as (resistance, power, gender equality, poverty, silence and freedom) to portray a compelling story both visually and emtionally to the audiences.

"Groove with Us"

In order for our campany to provide these programs at full capacity and to make our vision a global movement we need YOUR help. We are asking that you donate, share, or just talk about our program. Our goal is to apply for a 501(c)3 and become an official non-profit organization. With this milestone, we are able to open the doors for donors and investors. Our secondary goal is to visit and execute our programming in 3 different countries this year. This would allow us to present our program and pave our path to have a global impact that reaches communities near and far.
