In 2012 I went undercover with a film crew from LOI to expose child sex trafficking in Cambodia. I returned from that mission completely broken by what I saw and immediately began to ask God to give me vision of how I could help stop child sex slavery before it started -- this is where OneVOICE4freedom was birthed.
The mission of OneVOICE4freedom is to stop child sex trafficking before it starts. We do this by beating the traffickers to the villages where they seek to trick families into selling girls with false promises of education, jobs and money. These girls end up tortured, drugged, gang raped, starved and forced to service 8-10 men every night. Many of them never return home. Many of them die before adulthood.
The anti-trafficking education we deliver to these villages is a key to the prevention of sex slavery and saving of lives! We have already blazed a trail that has proved successful.
Last year's accomplishments:
-3,000 rural villagers in Cambodia took the pledge to shield their children from the lies and trickery of traffickers
-2,000 Cambodian high school students received our anti-trafficking message
-2,000 pairs of shoes were given to poor Cambodian children along with a message of hope, protection and the Gospel
-1 school building was constructed, enrolling 80 rural Cambodian students in formal, Christian education
-2 teaching positions were created through our support and partnership
-MANY CHILDREN were SAVED from being sold into sex slavery!
With your help to fund this work and vision, we will continue to educate, prevent and rescue girls from child sex slavery.
This February 2015, I will return to Cambodia and travel the countryside with missionary translators, educating thousands of people of all ages on sex trafficking, with the goal of stopping it before it starts. We have nearly reached our goal to cover our costs, but we still have about $2000 needed to cover the cost of 1000 meals for hungry children in the villages where I will teach entire families about trafficking and $1115 to buy roller skates for 33 orphans living at the Life Center--children who have already been saved from slavery.
With your help, we will reach a few thousand next month with food, shoes and an education on trafficking which will protect many families from the trickery of traffickers and prevent hundreds of girls from becoming slaves.
