Hi, I'm planning an adventure... i know, i know what you are all thinking, i wish we could all get money from other people to fund our vacations, but this one is a little different, for one I am one of those awkward ones, yes you guessed it a vegan, not even a sort of awkward vegetarian, i'm even more fussy, so this is going to be a challenge from the get go.
So I am planning a trip from the UK to; France then to Belgium, then to Germany, then to Poland, then to Belarus, then to Russia, then to China, then to Japan, from Japan back to China to go to the Philippines, then from the Philippines back to China,
(so there better be some good vegan friendly spots or China is going to be one hungry stop off and the plan wasn't even to visit in Hungary … cue eye roll),
then from China to the outskirts of Kazakhstan to go to Georgia, then to Turkey, then to Egypt, then to Greece, then to Italy, then to France and from France it's homeward bound.
Whilst planning this trip I thought to myself how would I get around and initially I thought of taking the two wheeled option but gave up on this when I couldn't even keep possession of my bike in the UK, let alone in countries where I cant pronounce “please don't steal my bike”.
So after much deliberation I decided to take the Forest Gump route, no no I wont be running, but he used his feet to travel, so so will I, he met companions along the way and I did think to take someone with me, but realised that the only one that would put up with me hogging the room in the tent would be a companion of the canine variety, hence the original chosen title of this adventure being 'One man and his dog'. However circumstances being as they were at the time it is now one man and himself (me, myself and I) lol.
I have saved up enough to me started but here is where you come in.
I plan to document my experience in an online blog (the link will be on my facebook page). So if this is something you feel you would be interested in reading about, whether I accomplish this or not, whether you are a doubting carnivore, doubting that I can do this with no meat powering me through the long walks or a fellow vegan interested in accommodating places to visit on your own vacations.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I ask for help with gear, food (vegan food is ridiculously over priced but hey I guess we chose to be picky lol) and just to help me a little further on my way with what I already have set aside.
I currently work 3 jobs and have done for nearly 2 years to prepare for this but the bills still come so as tesco advertises .. every little helps, whether it's financial support or recommendations for a roof for the night.
I plan to go next June/July 2019.
