With Marshall’s permission, our family is sharing his fight against aggressive bone cancer. Just a few weeks before his 18th birthday, Marshall began experiencing pain in his right leg. He didn’t complain—he stayed active, went to camps, completed a youth pioneer trek, and pushed through far more pain than anyone realized. On September 30, specialists at the Mayo Clinic confirmed the diagnosis: telangiectatic osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer. Marshall began chemotherapy immediately. In December, he underwent a life-saving amputation surgery called rotationplasty. Cancer took his leg, but it did not take his fight. Today, Marshall is fighting bone cancer with one leg. He is continuing chemotherapy and faces months of rehabilitation, prosthetics, and recovery as he learns to walk again. Some days are physically painful, others are emotionally heavy, but Marshall continues to trust God and face each challenge with courage and gratitude. His family watched him walk down the long hall into the operating room, side by side with his doctor, fully in stride. He never looked back. Twelve hours later, he was wheeled out—still strong, still fighting. Navigating osteosarcoma is not only a physical and emotional journey, but a financial one as well. Past and future medical treatments, uncovered expenses, hospital stays, missed school, missed work for both Marshall and those caring for him, rehabilitation, prosthetics, physical therapy, continued education, and long-term side effects of treatment (including infertility, cardiomyopathy, and hypertension) are all unavoidable parts of his recovery. All funds raised will go directly toward Marshall’s medical care and recovery. Your encouragement, support, and willingness to share Marshall’s journey mean the world to us. Whether you’re able to contribute or simply help spread the word, you’re making a difference. Thank you for being part of Marshall’s community and cheering him on every step of the way. #FightingBoneCancerwithOneLeg #TeamMarshall #FightForMarshall #MarshallStrong
