One Last Treat is a federally recognized Non-Profit 501 (C)(3) organization dedicated to providing comfort, companionship, and one last treat to severely at-risk and soon-to-be passing shelter animals. We were founded in 2015 by a group of veterans who wanted to continue service by helping animals whose time on earth was limited.
As veterans ourselves we have a strong understanding of the challenges vets face when coming back home, veterans anywhere from 18- 80 are experiencing a mental health crises which now has veterans at a suicide rate of 22 a day. This is unacceptable. Our organization wants to help bring a new outlook to veterans by exposing vets to an experience that shows them how much they are needed and how much others still depend on them in the community.

Our mission is simple , have vets help facilitate the rescue of 22 shelter animals from the overcrowded kill shelters of Kern County while bringing attention to the veteran suicide crisis . We will find rescues and fosters for all at-risk animals and be there from point A to point B. Veterans will be working side by side with rescues all over the country to get these animals safe-harbor in time to complete our 22 day mission.
Facilitating a rescue of this nature is not cheap so that is why we need your support. We are seeking $12,000 to pay for medical costs, transportation costs, and other costs that arise from getting these animals out in time. Again, these animals are not easy cases and need some work. Our mission will kick off on the 13th of June and end on the 4th of July.

We believe that completing a mission of this level sends a huge message to all. Our communities will not give up on veterans , veterans will not give up on their communities or themselves, and nobody will give up on these shelter animals. We will stand tall and fight like hell for each-other and others who need our help.
*You will be able to get updates, watch live videos, and ask questions on our Facebook page during the mission.
*Our EIN is 81-1552201 and donations are tax-deductible.
*You may also donate through PayPal on our website.
