Unicef: Tap Project

Hi there!


My name is Shay Cooper and I am a 22-year-old college student with a passion for helping to bring change to the world through charitable acts. In particular, I have been a big fan of the organization Unicef and their many charity-related endeavours. 2 years ago, I came across a cause that was advertised on Unicef’s website that really spoke to me. “The Tap Project”, as I learnt, is intended to raise funds to go towards providing impoverished children with clean drinking water. Each dollar raised can help provide a child with access to clean, safe water for 40 days. It is incredible to think that there are people in many parts of the world that do not have access to this very basic need – a need that we are lucky enough to have at our disposal. 

 
My team and I have come up with our campaign, “One drop, one life”, in order to help support this fundraiser. We hope to implement different ways to raise money for this cause, such as car washes, bake sales and many other activities, in order to meet our goal of $8000 by the end of August.  

This cause means a lot to me because I care a great deal about humanity and its survival. Through years of experience and volunteering, that care has grown so large that it will forever be embedded in me. My heart breaks to see people in countries that don't have access to life sustaining resources such as water – an essential part to human life. So, I made it my goal to see to it that those who are affected are provided with aid by the end of my life time.
