One Year, One Van, One Family Dream After Loss

Donation protected
Hi, we’re Alex, Tina, and our baby boy, Milo.
We have a dream, to spend one year traveling across the United States in a van, visiting as many national parks and incredible places as possible. But this trip is more than just sightseeing. It’s about healing, cherishing every moment, and giving Milo a beautiful start in life.

We lost our first son, Poppy, at 9 months pregnant. Our second son, Milo, was born with only one working kidney. Life has taught us that tomorrow isn’t promised. So, we’re chasing our dream now: one year in a van across the USA, making memories as a family while Milo is still little.

Why This Trip Means So Much
In 2023, our first son, Poppy, was stillborn at 9 months. Losing him was the most heartbreaking experience of our lives (You can watch our birth story on YouTube). When Milo arrived in April 2025, he became our rainbow after the storm — a reminder of love, hope, and how precious every moment is.

But Milo was born with a challenge: his left kidney never developed. He’s healthy now, but it means regular medical monitoring for the rest of his life. For us, this was yet another reminder that we can’t take time for granted.

Our Plan
We want to spend an entire year exploring the USA as a family, just the three of us and the open road. We would love to travel in a van large enough for us and safe for Milo, discovering the beauty of the USA and creating a lifetime of memories.

We also want Milo to spend one year immersed in English, so when we return to France, he can grow up speaking it fluently alongside French. This will allow him to attend a free public international school later.

How We’ll Fund It
To make this possible, we need to cover:
  • A safe, reliable van for 3 with a baby (~$60,000)
  • Fuel & travel expenses for one year (~$7,000)
  • Baby gear & camping equipment (~$3,500)
  • Food, lodging, and daily needs (~$20,000)
  • Insurance & emergency fund ($7,000)

Our total goal: $97,500

No matter how much we raise, this dream will happen in some form.
If we don’t reach the full goal for a year-long USA van trip, we’ll adapt. Maybe traveling for a shorter time or exploring a different destination that fits the amount raised. Every contribution will help us create beautiful family memories together.

Why We’re Asking for Help
I (Alex) quit my job last year to focus on my family and our travel blog. Tina is a yoga teacher and entrepreneur, but after years of pregnancy, loss, and caring for Milo, we’ve had almost no income. This trip is something we can only do with your support.

We will share our journey with you through:

How You Can Help
  • Donate, every dollar makes a difference.
  • Share our story with friends and family.
  • Follow our adventures

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us turn this dream into reality. A journey to heal, explore, and make memories with Milo that will last forever.

With love and gratitude,
Alex, Tina & Milo
