One Week to Save Sam, Help Save Her Life

My dog Sam, has been diagnosed with open Pyometra. This is a serious uterine disease that is fatal without proper treatment that affects dogs who are not spayed. It occurs when the uterus fills with puss and bacteria, a result of hormone changes in the reproductive track. If left untreated, it can lead to dehydration, kidney failure, toxaemia, and ultimately death. This is a medical emergency that requires immediate surgery to remove the infected uterus. Unless she undergoes this surgery, she only has a week left to live. She will experience severe abdominal pain and a high fever (which she already has) or hypothermia, enter septic shock, vomiting and diarrhea, dehydration and collapse, then finally organ failure and her death.

Sam has been with my family for 8 years. She was a happy and healthy dog before this development. Getting this surgery will ensure a second chance at life, a life that should not be ending so soon.

We adopted Sam in April of 2017, at 6 weeks old. She's an integral member of my family. She is one of us. Sam means the world to my family and me. She is a wonderful dog, extremely loyal, loving, friendly, and beautiful.

We are at a crossroad and need your help to meet the enormous financial demand of the surgery. Our veterinary emergency clinic advised that this procedure is necessary but would cost CDN$8K which we do not have. The consultation yesterday (may 12) cost us CDN$598 and this afforded us medication in the interim for 5 days. The cost is enormous, the news discouraging, but it is with hope that with your compassion and generosity, that we can pool our resources to saving Sam's life.

Raising money for her in anyway possible is my mission to saving her life. We are still holding out for hope.
