"One tree at a time, every tree counts"
Donation protected
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Herbert Maack, lovingly known to his family as Poppy, who left us peacefully on March 25, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was the most incredible husband, friend, father, father-in-law, and grandfather — a man whose warmth, humor, and kindness touched everyone he met.
Poppy had an immense passion for gardening and nature. In retirement, Jim found what he called his “Garden of Eden” by beautifying the grounds at Kimberton Golf Club, where Jim was a co-owner with his family. The golf course was his true sanctuary — a reflection of his patience, care, and connection to the world around him. He found peace among the flowers and plants, always tending to them with the same love and dedication he showed his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor his memory by donating to his “That’s My Tree Fund”, which will provide a new garden at the club dedicated to his memory — as Jim would have loved. “One tree at a time, and every tree counts.”
