One step closer towards my dream at American Ballet

Hello, my name is Carla, I’m fifteen years old and for as long as I can remember, I dance. I need your help to cover tuition and travel expenses to attend the American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive in New York City, from June 23 to July 25, 2025.

Classical ballet is my life and through it I have found my path. It has helped me overcome challenges and discover who I truly am. Dance allows me to tell stories and connect with others in a magical way. My long-term goal is to become a professional ballerina, to dance on stage, and to share my passion and my joy for dancing. It’s all about the journey, and I can’t wait to find out where it takes me.

I started ballet when I was three in my hometown, New York. Shortly after my family moved to Mallorca, Spain, where my love for dance only grew stronger. At the age of eight, after a performance, it became clear to me that this was my calling. Since then, the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) has been my dream school and company. I have attended their Summer Intensive for the past four years.

In 2023 they even made me an offer to study at the ABT/JKO School year-round. But I was only fourteen at the time, too young to move to the city by myself, and I had already accepted an invitation from Mariemma, the Royal Conservatory of Professional Dance in Madrid, which I also love and where I am currently training.

My heart is still set on ABT, and for that, I need to nurture that relationship, in the hopes of training at the ABT school one day. Thanks to the generosity of donors, I was able to attend the Summer Intensive in 2024. And I have been accepted again to the upcoming intensive this July. Your donations will allow me to continue on this path and pursue my dream.

American Ballet Theatre’s Summer Intensive has earned a reputation for being one of the top ballet programs in the world. It offers masterclasses and top-quality teachers who focus on developing well-rounded dancers through exposure to a wide variety of disciplines with an emphasis on classical ballet technique.

Hola, me llamo Carla, tengo quince años y desde que puedo recordar, bailo. Busco ayuda para cubrir los gastos de matriculación y viaje y asistir al intensivo de verano del American Ballet Theatre en Nueva York, del 23 de junio al 25 de julio de 2025.

La danza clásica es mi vida, gracias al ballet he encontrado mi camino. Me ha ayudado a superar retos y a descubrir quién soy realmente. La danza me permite contar historias y conectar con los demás de una forma mágica. Mi objetivo es convertirme en bailarina profesional, bailar en el escenario y transmitir mi alegría y pasión por la danza. Lo que cuenta es el camino y estoy impaciente por descubrir dónde me lleva.

Empecé las clases de ballet cuando tenía tres años en mi ciudad natal, Nueva York. Poco después me trasladé con mi familia a Mallorca, España, donde mi amor por la danza no hizo más que crecer. A los ocho años, tras una actuación, tuve claro que esa era mi vocación. Desde entonces, el American Ballet Theatre (ABT) ha sido la escuela y compañía de mis sueños. Llevo asistiendo a su Intensivo de Verano los últimos cuatro años.

En 2023 incluso me ofrecieron una plaza para estudiar durante el curso en la ABT/JKO School. Pero entonces tenía sólo 14 años, demasiado joven para mudarme sola a la ciudad, y ya había aceptado una invitación de Mariemma, el Real Conservatorio Profesional de Danza de Madrid, donde me estoy formando actualmente y me encanta.

Mi corazón sigue puesto en ABT, y para ello, necesito alimentar esa relación con la esperanza de algún día poder estudiar en la ABT School. Gracias a la generosidad de muchos, pude asistir al Intensivo de Verano en 2024. Y me han vuelto a aceptar para este próximo intensivo en el mes de julio. Vuestras donaciones me permitirán seguir este camino y mantener vivo mi sueño.

El intensivo de verano del American Ballet Theatre es considerado uno de los mejores programas de ballet del mundo. Ofrece clases magistrales y profesores de alto nivel dedicados a formar bailarines completos a través de la enseñanza de una amplia variedad de disciplinas con énfasis en la técnica del ballet clásico.
