One Small Seed Can Make A Big Change

In 2021, before my son Vinny was diagnosed with AML Leukemia, his 3rd grade class had planted Marigold seeds. When he was diagnosed and found out he would be treated in-patient, he was very worried that he wouldn't be able to care for his seed. His grandmother promised to look after it while he was in the hospital. Vinny went to heaven two short weeks after being diagnosed and was never able to see his seed flower. That mothers day, as I looked out the window, I saw the most beautiful bloom a son could send his mother from heaven. We seeded his bloom and now have a thriving garden of marigolds that we call VinnyGolds. The seeds have passed through family and friends and inspired the NotForProfit Charity, One Small Seed. Because one small seed, can make a big change. We created a few products to share his story, centered on the marigold and they will be offered at various events. The majority of the profits raised through this page will go to a Family Support Fund that will provide a $225 care kit to families with in-patient children at Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital. The kit will included gift cards for food, gas, and Starbucks. I know this may seem small, but when you stand over your child, worrying about how you will pay for the medicine they need, a small FREE cup of coffee can give you the strength to press forward. A FREE tank of gas can get you back to your other children. And a FREE lunch can give you energy without leaving the hospital. These are small kindnesses we would like to offer families with sick children. The rest of the money we raise will buy product supplies for the marigold project. My hope is that one day some of the clay earrings will be made by the children themselves and will be available for auction. All of this in GODS name and HIS will be done. Thank you, Kira
