My mother, Amelia Francis needs your help to get back on her feet!
On May 25th 2018 my mum, Amelia Francis who is visiting Canada had a fall, that not only broke her hip, but also damaged her pace maker.
Due to her pacemaker not functioning, she was admitted into the Critical Care Unit (CCU) at Credit Valley hospital. Although in terrible pain, she could not be operated on as she was considered extremely high risk.
Once she was stabilized, she had the hip surgery on May 29th, after which her pacemaker was replaced. She was then moved into the general surgical ward on June 2nd.
Rehab at the hospital was out of the question due to the cost implications, so we brought her home on June 9th. Through all of this mum has been a champion, most gracious and kind to all around her, including the staff at the hospital, all of whom were very fond of her, but unfortunately, these qualities alone cannot pay the bills.
The painful tragedy is this: Amelia’s travel insurance has run out. After a 2 week stay in the hospital and after defraying all expenses that we could, we have been left with a staggering balance of $65,000 dollars, which we are expected to pay within 3 months!

Our financial situation is dire, desperate and urgent; after exhausting all other resources, we are now reaching out to you, our friends..
