Donation protected
The Lord has put it on my heart to reach out to my community during this COVID crisis and use the skills He has equipped me with to serve others by giving them an alternative to sending their kids to school with masks all day, distance learning, or homeschooling. Single parents especially have been on my heart. How are they expected to quit their jobs and stay home with their kids so they can do distance learning? I know several families in this predicament!
We are blessed with a property that has a really cute little building on it that we use as storage. With a little money and some hard work we can turn it into a darling little schoolhouse!
Over the past 11 years I have homeschooled my 4 kids, directed a large co-op, and taught in the private school setting. For the past two years I have taught blended classes of 2-3 different grade levels. I see now that God was preparing me for such a time as this!
Lord willing, my plan is to turn this little building into a classroom that will comfortably fit 12-15 students. I have 15 students already signed up this fall. This will be a co-op legally, as parents would be registered as homeschoolers, but I will provide the daily instruction for families that cannot stay home with their kids and teach them due to school closures.
We would like to get started on this right away as we only have about a month to renovate this building before school starts. Currently it has plywood walls and an open rafter type ceiling. It needs the following:
-a new door on the backside
-drywall and insulation
-a ceiling
-taping, mudding, texture, and paint
-carpet
-lighting and electrical outlets
-an upgraded electrical panel
-heating
