We are a group of first-year and transfer film students coming together to create a short film rooted in love, resilience, and the quiet, powerful moments that shape a life. As emerging artists, this project is more than just a film—it’s a chance to learn, collaborate, and grow while telling a story that feels deeply human. While we may be early in our journeys, our shared love and dedication to student filmmaking tie us together. We bring a fresh perspective with passion, dedication, and a shared belief in the importance of meaningful storytelling.

The story follows Terry and Donna, an old married couple, as they recover from Terry’s heart attack. Terry desperately misses being able to mow the lawn, while Donna is struggling with new heart-healthy recipes. No longer able to fit into the long-established roles of their marriage, they must teach each other how to do new tasks. As Donna takes on more of the workload in caring for Terry, Terry uses his new skills to plan a romantic surprise for her.

Our vision for this film is to take a narrative that could have been really upsetting and defeatist and show that a life change like this can actually positively reshape a relationship. We also wanted to examine the ways that gender dynamics impact long-standing relationships, and most importantly, honor the inspiration we have drawn from our own families and life experiences.

The funds raised will go directly towards costumes, transportation, production design, food for the cast and crew, and festival submissions. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will help bring this story to life and support a project that means so much to us as a team. We are grateful for any support.
