Clementine, the miracle cat.
Because of your kindness, generosity, and belief in him, Clemmy received his life-saving reconstructive surgery and survived one of the worst trauma cases his vets have ever seen.
Since then, he’s become a bit of a celebrity at SACH, charming his way through the halls and unapologetically invading the personal space of anyone willing.
But just as we were finally catching our breath… we hit another terrifying hurdle.
A few nights ago, Clementine’s face swelled up like a pufferfish out of nowhere. I rushed him to the ER in the middle of the night, terrified he was having an allergic reaction though nothing new had been introduced. The next morning, he was seen again by his vets at SACH, but all basic bloodwork and diagnostics came back clean. As we’ve continued testing, including for flea- or tickborne illnesses he may have contracted before rescue, the swelling has continued to spread.
Now, all of Clemmy’s lymph nodes are enlarged, with fluid (edema) forming as a result. As his vets always say "Clementine doesn't follow the textbook" so we just don’t have a clear answer what's going on. But we do know what we have to rule out first and foremost: cancer.
To do that and determine what's causing this, Clemmy urgently needs:
- A PARR test to rule out lymphoma
- Specialized bloodwork panels
- Other diagnostics, such as an ultrasound
- Continued management of care (medications, bloodwork monitoring, prescription diet)
- And, of course, pending results: treatment
I’ve been estimated $1000 for the PARR test alone, with other specific tests ranging from $300-$500 each. With every penny of his previous fundraiser being put towards his current $9,159 in medical bills, I once again find myself at a crossroads. I will continue to put in all of the time, care, travel, and love for Clemmy...but I just can't handle the funds alone.
I promised him I would fight right next to him through all of this and Clemmy has never once wavered in his desire to. He is so close to closing this chapter...He just needs one more miracle.
If you can help, any amount truly makes a difference. If you can’t donate, please share his story. Every single act of support helps us keep fighting for Clemmy’s second chance.
And if you’ve helped before, thank you. You gave him his life and I want to protect it. Let's finally get him his happy ending that he's more than earned.
With all my heart,
Kallen & Clemmy
