I know we've been seeing more and more fundraising lately and perhaps we've all become a bit overwhelmed by how many hard cases are around. But today I come with a personal plea. My cousin, Vasile Luchian, is going through a battle that no one should have to fight alone - he is battling cancer and needs an surgery that could save his life.

My name is Zinaida Dobrescu Cotelea, I am Vasile's cousin and I need your help to give him a real chance at life. He is going through the hardest time of his life. After 8 surgeries and a tough battle with cancer, the disease has recurred and the metastases have spread. What's worse, a severe infection is putting his life in danger and blocking any cancer treatment.

Public hospitals have refused further surgery because of the high risks. His only chance remains a specialized private clinic, the Clinica Universidad de Navarra in Spain, which can handle such complex cases.

The estimated costs for treatment and intervention: €60,000, an impossible amount for his family, who have already exhausted all resources.
