As many of you know, Hurricane Melissa has brought devastating damage to Jamaica, leaving countless families without homes, resources, and access to basic necessities. Communities across the island are facing severe flooding, power outages, and the loss of livelihoods.
As proud members of the Jamaican diaspora, we are deeply heartbroken by the impact of this Category 5 hurricane on our beloved island. In response, we have come together as a community to launch this relief effort aimed at providing direct support to families and individuals in urgent need across the island.
Who We Are
This campaign is presented Eye of Eye Uh and Becoming Dr. Caballero, and Phorever Pretty New York, who over the years have collectively given back to Jamaica, doing Back to School Drives in Savanna La Mer, travel and transportation services on the island, and more. With previously doing this extensive work on the island and contributing to Jamaica's economy, it felt only right as a collective of Jamaicans living abroad who remain deeply connected to our island home, that we give back to those same families and communities that we've served through the years. Many of us have close family and friends directly impacted by the storm. We have come together to coordinate a unified relief response that ensures transparency, fairness, and meaningful impact.
We are working in collaboration with trusted local partners, community leaders, and volunteers on the ground in Jamaica to identify and verify families in need of assistance.
How the Funds Will Be Used
To ensure fairness and accountability, funds will be distributed through a structured application and review process, prioritizing verified families and individuals with demonstrated need.
