One Less Worry for Juanita

Hi, my name is Elisa. I am a long time friend of Bill and Juanita.

Bill and Juanita have touched so many of our lives in so many ways. And now we have the chance to say thank you in one specific way, by gifting Juanita with some of the peace of mind that we have found in our time at the Allenspark Lodge.

As many of you know, Bill & Juanita (owner's of the Allenspark Lodge) were involved in a horrific car accident on Monday November 21. A car traveling at excessive speeds rear ended them and sent their car tumbling over an embankment on a rural highway in southern Utah. Bill did not survive. We are missing his quirky sense of humor, kind heart, and amazing hugs.

Juanita survived with the help of two passing "angels" - trained and off duty paramedics. She suffered broken ribs, fractured sternum and a collapsed lung. Fortunately her "angels" despite being off duty had the equipment and training to deal with a collapsed lung and keep her stable while waiting for a helicopter and ambulance crew.

Reba, the lodge dog, was also involved in the accident. She was thrown from the car, suffered a broken leg and was discovered hiding in some bushes by Bob (Angel #1).

As I'm sure you can imagine, running an old log lodge in the mountains of Colorado is not an inexpensive venture. Juanita has closed the lodge for the winter season to focus on healing but will begin welcoming guests again starting in March.

We would like to give Juanita the gift of paying off the last of her mortgage on The Lodge. It's one small thing we can do during this very difficult time. Bill and Juanita have impacted our lives in many ways, and we'd like to show how much we are thinking of her, give her a little security, one less worry, and some love from afar so she can put her energy into her recovery and healing.

Our goal is to cover the $30K that is still owed on the lodge mortgage. We hope that you will consider contributing any amount that you can and/or passing the link along to friends or folks who would like to support Juanita and The Allenspark Lodge. Losing Bill was a tremendous loss to Juanita and all of us. Let's honor Bill and Juanita by removing the mortgage worry from her plate. Thank you!
