One Last Tip From Mac
Donation protected
If you’re reading this, I hope all is well and that 2021 has treated you kindly. Almost a year ago now we lost my father Pete (Mac) McIntyre to a sudden heart attack. His loss was sudden and tragic, and it has been one of the most difficult things my family and I have ever had to deal with.
After reflecting a little bit about how the last year has been, I realized I haven't been spreading the happiness and joy that my dad once did. I remember calling my mom a few months back after having a bad day and she simply responded, “Your father wouldn’t want this, he would laugh at you and walk away.” It was any eye opener for me. If you knew Pete, you know this is true. He was full of life, love, and lots of humor. Pete McIntyre didn’t think there was any time in this world to spend having a bad time.
So, that got me thinking. What could we do to honor Pete? The one thing that my dad loved to do is to give to others simply for the sake of giving. Whether it be a golf shirt, dinner, beers, unreasonable tips, Dr. Pepper merchandise, or anything else the big guy was giving out, any chance Pete had something to give, he gave. If you have ever been on the receiving end of it, you know exactly what I’m talking about. The important part was he didn’t expect a single thing in return, and that is what I admired most about him.
Now, this is where I need everyone to bear with me. My siblings and I decided we want to carry on the generosity our dad always did. So throughout the next two weeks we want to raise money from our friends and family in order to help someone who truly needs it during this holiday season. None of this money will be kept by us and in a perfect world we would like to donate to a waitress or waiter who’s struggling to make ends meet, or a bus driver who’s working two shifts. (Please trust that the money will fall into needed hands). The theory behind this GoFundMe is that with a little bit of help from a lot of people we have the opportunity to change someone's life and spread the wealth like my dad once did. We are not looking for any specific amount of donation, just whatever you see fit. The ball is already rolling and we will be accepting donations until November 23rd in order to give out the tip on November 24th, which will mark one year since dad’s passing.
If you have even made it this far, you truly don’t understand how much I appreciate it. Please consider donating and be on the lookout for any updates that we have! Thanks again, everyone. Always love.
