Peter, my older brother, has always been a lover of nature. As long as I can remember he has been surrounded by animals of all kinds; always had a fish tank, dogs, cats, snakes, diving for turtles in the lakes of northern Indiana, raising monarch butterflies—you name it. He has always loved life and the world around him. At 62, he was recently diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. The news has been incredibly hard on our family, and Peter has just finished his first round of chemotherapy. The treatments have been tough, bringing the horrific side effects that one often hears about, but Peter has faced them with courage and hope. While the chemo has helped control the cancer, his doctor has told us that it will not go away. The best they can do is give him more time, and we are determined to make the most of every moment we have left with him.

As a family, we want to rally around Peter and help him enjoy one last family vacation, immersed in the natural world he loves so much. Our greatest wish is to give him the chance to experience the beauty of Hawaii—a place he has always wanted to visit but never had the opportunity. We want Peter to see the breathtaking landscapes, witness sights he's never seen before, and share these moments with his wife and two daughters. This trip would mean the world to him and to all of us, creating memories that they will cherish forever.
