One Last Cup of Kindness for Daddio’s

For nearly 20 years, Scott and Terry Beltran and the Daddio’s Diner family have served up so much more than giant pancakes, hot coffee, and really good breakfasts.

They’ve served our community.

Daddio’s has been the place where kids grew up in the booths. Where families celebrated birthdays. Where college kids stopped in when they came home. Where friends lingered over coffee, regulars were greeted by name, and you rarely left without a full belly—and probably a story or two.

But what has always made Daddio’s so special is how much the Beltran family has given back.

Over the years, they’ve collected hundreds of toys and food items for local families, supported countless community efforts, and created their Pay It Forward program, where customers could purchase a Cup of Kindness to provide a meal for someone who needed one.

For nearly 20 years, they have shown up for Batavia.

Now, it’s our turn to show up for them. ❤️

The Beltran family recently announced the incredibly difficult decision that Daddio’s Diner will close its doors on September 23.

Like so many small, family-owned businesses, the past year has been incredibly challenging. Scott and Terry have worked hard to keep Daddio’s going, and in doing so, the diner has incurred outstanding business expenses that don’t simply disappear when the doors close.

We aren't going to share private financial details or numbers. That's their story to tell.

What we do know is that closing a business after nearly two decades comes with more than an emotional weight; it comes with a financial one, too.

And we'd love to help make that weight a little lighter.

Scott and Terry did not ask us to create this fundraiser.

We simply wanted to give the community that they've supported for so many years a way to support them.

Funds raised through One Last Cup of Kindness will help Scott and Terry address remaining business obligations from Daddio’s as they close the diner, while hopefully providing a little breathing room as they step into whatever comes next.

Think of it as one last really, REALLY big Daddio’s tip jar.

And because Daddio’s has been part of Batavia for nearly 20 years, we're asking our community to consider:

For the countless ways this family has quietly shown up for others.
