ONE in a Melon

Sid and Salma here.

A little story time: we live in the UK. In 2023, we went travelling and one of the places we travelled to, was Palestine. During this time we visited an orphanage, where we were met with so much love that words can’t fully explain. The softness in the little children’s voices, how playful they were with each other but you could also see the hurt and pain in their eyes with the untold stories too.

Whilst on this trip, it gave us some time to reflect, and after the visit to the orphanage we made the intention that we wanted to help in some way and to directly support the children and maybe one day to go back to pay these wonderful children another visit, all while in the back of my mind hoping I would be able to take my own child (god willing) one day to visit too.

Fast forward some time from that trip and we were greeted with the most amazing news that we waited for years to hear…. Our little one was on their way!

Our journey to the arrival of our son has been the most special one. Our miracle boy arrived a year ago.

To celebrate his milestone in turning ONE, we couldn’t think of anything better than to give back and in lieu of gifts for him we would like to raise funds to go to children’s orphanages in Palestine.

We have contacts from our previous trip and once all has been organised I will share the details of which orphanages your funds will directly benefit.

once visited with little children just like me.

Let’s make wishes come true, not just for me, but for the orphans in need, too!”
