ONE FOR THE WIZARD! A Benefit for Stephen Staples

Stephen Powers Staples has been an exceptional musician, businessman, teacher, and friend in New Orleans and Louisiana for over 5 decades. Steve has been playing music in New Orleans since his first band The Gaunga Dyns and more recently has been a huge part of the Void community with his band The Iceman Special where he rips the guitar and exudes showmanship. Steve has also been providing vintage guitars and music lessons for his local community with his business International Vintage Guitars since the early 90's.

While his rock star persona is obviously a big part of his life; Steve is also a great friend and mentor for countless people. He has been heavily involved with AA and has been a licensed addiction counselor for many years where he assisted people with getting their lives back on track. He has always been a man to lend his ear to anyone that seems to be in need. He has a huge heart, a saint's patience, and welcomes anyone into his life with open arms. If you've ever met met Steve you can attest to hisloving personality and helpful wisdom.

Unfortunately, Steve has a new battle in his life in the form of liver cancer. He is taking this battle head on and the emotional support from the community has not gone unnoticed. However, due to his treatment schedule Steve will not be able to perform shows, give lessons, or run his music store.
