Hello Everybody!
First of all, thank you for clicking over to my GoFundMe page, I'm grateful for your interest in why I plan to run the Brooklyn Half Marathon and the New York City Marathon. Truthfully, there's no quick answer, however, the motivation comes from a mix between something I've always wanted to do and a way to raise money for charity.
I've always wanted to run a marathon simply because of the mental and physical challenge in doing so and especially the NYC Marathon because I've watched thousands of participants run by my apartment every year.
Raising money for charity, however, is a new interest. With the recent and sudden passing of my father, I've lost a best friend and hero, but I've gained a new perspective on life. Life is not to be taken for granted and for a full and rewarding life it's important to give back. So in my first attempt raising money for charity, I will be running for Fred's Team (who supports cancer research) and The American Heart Association. 100% of the funds raised here will be donated to these amazing organizations.
Did you make it down to here? Okay, then some FAQs:
How tall are you?
6'8" Same height as Lebron James.
What is your marathon experience? Any runs over 10 miles?
None. Nope. Trial by Fire. I do run a 5K daily, does that count?
When are the races?
Brooklyn Half (May 20th) NYC Marathon (Nov 5th)
Expected / Ideal finishing time? Strategy?
Happy with anything under 2 hours & 4 hours for the half and full, respectively. For the half, cruise around the 8min/mile pace then at mile ~10/11 throttle down.
