A Father’s Fight: Help Me Keep My Family Alive and Together

My Story:

Hi, my name is Marcus Johnson. I’m a father, a son, a fiancé, and a man trying to hold my family together through pain, poverty, and sickness.

Right now, we are struggling just to survive. I live in a small low-income apartment with four people—my son, my fiancée, my mother, and myself. Every single one of us is facing serious health issues.

My mother suffers from memory loss and other complications that make everyday life a challenge. My fiancée is dealing with her own medical problems, and I’ve had multiple surgeries on my legs, hips, and spine, plus serious infections and conditions that keep putting me back in the hospital I also have amputations of the feet.

We’ve all tried to work. We’ve tried to push through and do 40-hour workweeks. But each time, we get worse. The doctors keep telling us, “If you keep doing this, you could die.”

Our car is breaking down, we can’t afford to fix it, and groceries are getting harder to buy. My only income is SSI, and it’s not enough to care for a whole family. We need help. Not for luxury—just to live.

We are asking for help with:

Food for our son and family

Medical supplies, treatments, and medications

Fixing our car so we can make it to appointments

Basic bills, rent, and daily necessities

Support while I finish college and fight for a better future

I’m not just doing this for me. I’m doing this for my son. I would do anything for him. I want him to grow up safe, fed, loved, and proud of his father. I want him to see that even when life gets hard, his dad never gave up.

We will use a portion to make sure our family has enough to eat each day. This includes groceries, hygiene products, household items, and anything needed to keep our son healthy and growing.
