One Day Together is Educate Together’s national fundraising day. It is a day when school communities and supporters rally to ensure that we can continue to open and support Educate Together’s fast-growing network. Schools, start-up groups, alumni and families up and down the country mark the day with celebrations and fundraisers. All in aid of our charity, Educate Together.
As a small educational charity, Educate Together relies on funds generated from One Day Together as a crucial source of income. This enables the national office to develop curriculum and resources for Ethical Education, to provide supports to our teachers, board members and school leaders, and to open and expand schools so that more families can experience Educate Together’s unique equality-based ethos. It also allows us to advocate for better funding for schools and for Educate Together as a patron and management body.
Many people do not realise that Educate Together is a charity. Less than half of operating costs are covered by a core grant from the Government. Educate Together provides a public service on behalf of the State but not all of our costs are covered by the State. In the absence of a fully Government-funded education system, we rely on the generosity of the public to operate our equality-based schools.
Your support will help Educate Together continue to:
1. Develop the Learn Together Ethical Education curricula at primary and second-level.
2. Open new schools so that more families can experience the unique equality-based ethos.
3. Ensure Educate Together to advocate for equality in education so that no child will be an outsider in Ireland’s schools.
