One Day At A Time~Team Uncle Dave
Team Uncle Dave…
Because In This Family No One Fights Alone
Welcome to our GoFundMe for Dave and Lisa. As you know, Go fund me is a platform to help people in need. Whether it be for property loss, loss of life, medical, or any other need that comes unexpectedly in life. 6 months ago Dave was admitted to Condell Hospital with Pneumonia as well as sepsis. He was hospitalized for 2 weeks before being discharged only to be diagnosed 2 weeks later with stage IV pancreatic cancer. From that day on Dave has been fighting day by day...One day at a time. To learn more about Daves story please visit Daves Caring Bridge
This Go Fund Me was not an easy decision for Lisa and Dave to agree to. They have always been the ones to give, but they now need to be the ones to receive. I want to thank everyone who has been so supportive with texts, phone calls, and especially meals. As Dave is going through treatments his appetite has greatly decreased.
If you still would like to help, please consider donating to help with medical bills and co~pays, medications, and everyday expenses. As you can imagine, Dave is unable to work. His insurance policy came to an end and is now on Lisas' policy. Deductibles that were met previously are now starting over. Throughout COVID-19 Lisa fortunately has been able to be home with Dave as her classroom has been online. She takes him to appointments, keeps track of meds, and is there 24 hours a day. Her job has started back in the classroom, but she was able to take FMLA leave for a month. As her FMLA has run out, by September 17th she needs to make a big decision. Go back to work full time with insurance, or part time with insurance. Either way extra help will be needed.
Cancer is in the top 5 of the most expensive illnesses to treat. There is chemotherapy, scans, medications, dietitians, transfusions, and again, every day costs of living. Cancer is hard enough to beat physically, but the emotional stresses that come along with it are immeasurable. I know that some of you have been through this personally as well as from afar. To have the weight of everything at once is sometimes just too much. With this, we are asking that if during these trying times for everyone, if you would still like to continue to support Daves' battle, please consider GoFundMe. We appreciate any support whether it be socially (distancing), emotionally, or monetarily. Thank you so much for reading this page and for everyones love, strength, and prayers. If you have any questions regarding a donation please feel free to contact Michelleor myself.
