One Bike, 1,500 km, One Goal: Safer Healthcare
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Laura,
and I’ve decided the best way to “relax” before starting my Master’s at Oxford is to cycle the entire length of the UK through rain, hills, and endless debates with my legs about quitting.
I grew up in Germany, recently graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Economics and Computer Science, and will be starting my Master’s at Oxford this autumn.

Over the past few years, I have been working at the intersection of technology and healthcare , creating tools to improve patient safety and to make sure vital medical information is available when it matters most.

Before starting at Oxford, I am taking on a challenge that’s completely out of my comfort zone: cycling from Land’s End at the very bottom of England to John o’Groats at the top of Scotland. It is more than 1,500 kilometers of unpredictable weather, steep climbs, and tired legs.
I am doing this to raise funds for a cause close to my heart: Action Against Medical Accidents (AvMA), the UK’s charity for patient safety.

AvMA supports people affected by avoidable harm in healthcare, offers free advice to families, and campaigns for changes so that medical accidents are learned from and not repeated.
Every kilometer I ride is to help AvMA continue making healthcare safer for all of us. If you can, please support my journey by donating, sharing this page, or sending an encouraging message along the route.

Let us turn every kilometer into progress for patient safety. Thank you for being part of this journey!
