On Cue Related Charities

Each year at On Cue, we celebrate the human spirit and innovative ideas that can progress forward, especially in multidisciplinary and inclusionary ways. We believe that human and mentor capital combined with financial partnership can help uncover new and beautiful solutions to old and persistent problems across many inefficient markets. We are pleased to have On Cue as an invite-only event with no fees and to have over the years integrated social and cultural impact organizations into our programming.

This year we seek to raise some awareness and support from our community for non-profit organizations who have played an important part in the On Cue programming with their talent and resources while demonstrating impact on a broader scale. These non-profit organizations span across a wide range of causes and include From the Top, How I Decide Foundation, the Boston Book Festival, and the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, among others.

While any contribution will be completely voluntary (and will not affect any future invitation status), we have created 1-2 limited and intimate experiences for those who have an interest and choose to contribute to these causes.  As an example, the first ten people to contribute $1,000 or more will have an opportunity to participate in a small-group private poker lesson and tournament with Annie Duke ("The Duchess of Poker"), World Series of Poker winner, decision strategist, and founder of How I Decide Foundation, whose mission is to help youth develop skills to better support decision-making through self-regulation, conscious habit formation, and managing uncertainty effectively.

To facilitate our giving we are using the "Go Fund Me" platform, which is a simple web-based tool that allows for personal contributions for a small transaction fee. The tradeoff on using the platform is that your personal contribution is not tax-deductible, but 100% of the net proceeds will be distributed to the recipients on behalf of the On Cue community.  It’s just much easier for our administration. The partners of Cue Ball are also making personal contributions to be supportive across these causes and will allocate your contributions across the various non-profits involved with On Cue.

While we hope several On Cue guests are able to support the initiative at a level of $1,000 or more, we'd love for everyone to consider participating at a level of even $50-$250, which in aggregate would go a long way.   To sign up for the Annie Duke experience or contribute generally to the collection, simply click the "Donate Now" button at the top of the page.

Best,

Tony
