Once in a lifetime trip for Sienna
Donation protected
In June, Sienna attended a soccer camp hosted by FC Barcelona in New Orleans, LA. This camp was unique due to the trained coaching staff who taught Barcelona’s values and playing style. These coaches from Spain showed the kids a different form of soccer than anything taught here in the U.S. Over the course of a week, Sienna learned so much and grew as a player. The raw talent and natural athletic ability she possesses impressed the coaches, so much that she was invited to an exclusive girls’ camp in Barcelona, Spain.
Sienna has been playing soccer since she was 4 years old. She started playing recreational soccer, and quickly transitioned to club soccer. This past year she has been playing for Louisiana Fire Juniors YDP. Due to her young age of 9, she is not old enough to play competitive soccer with the club.
We truly believe this is a once in a life-time experience that could be life-changing; one that pushes Sienna to further pursue her soccer career and empower her as a female athlete.
Unfortunately, this opportunity is expensive. With the camp right around the corner on September 29- October 08, 2018, this does not allow much time for our family to save enough money to afford this trip on our own. Currently we survive primarily off Mike (Sienna’s dad) active duty Navy paycheck, while Valerie (Sienna’s mom) is going to nursing school and working part-time. Any extra money earned this summer is going to fund this trip.
The estimated expenses for this trip include:
Camp: $2695 + $75 administration fee
Family pack (For one parent- her dad, Mike to attend): $995
Airfare for Sienna and her dad: $2405
Food: $1000
Hotel: $1500
Passports: $260
This does not include the difference between the US dollar and the Euro, transportation in Spain, etc.
Anything will help, even a share to get this story out there. Hopefully we can make a little girl’s dreams come true. This is the beginning of her journey to the USA Women’s National Soccer team. Thank you from the Muntzner family!
