Onalaska High School Quiz Bowl

This is the Onalaska High School Quiz Bowl team, and we need your help.

The OHS Quiz Bowl team participates in buzzer-style trivia competitions against teams from other schools.  Quiz Bowl encourages learning in every area imaginable, which is why we have built a team with a wide range of knowledge and talent, from music to science to sports.  

This year, our team started out with a majority of the people being new recruits who had never competed in a Quiz Bowl tournament.  That didn’t discourage us.  We resolved to practice harder than OHS Quiz Bowl had ever before, meeting for four hours every week.  Knowing we would have to go up against vastly more experienced teams, we had no idea if all our work would pay off.  

At our first tournament of the season and the first tournament ever for most of the team, our A team won first place with 2,840 points, the second-highest score in OHS history, and qualified for the National High School Quiz Bowl Championship in Atlanta. 

HOWEVER, we do not currently have the funds to send a team to Atlanta, including costs of travel, registration, and rooms.  The costs of registration will also go up if we don’t register early.  Due to these costs and not enough team members, we were not able to go to the competition last year even though we qualified.  This year, we have a strong A team full of people eager to compete.  Please help us reach our goal to compete at nationals.
