It has been my life-long dream to join the police force, and I have been in training to meet the physical requirements, so that I will be fully prepared to apply this spring. However, working out has caused a hernia, which must be repaired, and for which I have no funds, no insurance (I am employed, full-time, but with no health coverage, and not enough saved for the surgery). I fully realize there are far more serious conditions, and I never imagined that I would ever resort to asking others for financial assistance, but I fear that the opportunity to achieve my dream career may be slipping from my grasp. I want to help others, to be a role model, to keep fellow citizens safe, to devote myself to this country. I am compassionate, caring, patient, easy-going temperament, qualities that I believe will make me an asset to the police force.
