Hi everyone!
My name is Christophe Rull . I am the 2022 U.S representative for the biggest chocolate competition in the world, The World Chocolate Masters which is held in Paris, France on October 28.
I was born and raised in Marseille France and started my pastry career at 14 years old. Growing up my only dream was to become an executive pastry chef. I worked my way up throughout my years and was able to move to the U.S at 24 where I started working in Las Vegas at the Aria, I spent most of my career growing and moving around different hotels to better my knowledge and skills. I finally reached my dream and became the executive pastry chef at the Park Hyatt in Carlsbad, California. A few years later I was then given the opportunity in 2020 to compete in the U.S Nationals where I won. I have now been training these past 2 years to be able to bring my absolute best to this competition and become the first U.S finalist to ever win the World Chocolate Masters.
My vision for this competition is to protect our oceans. Living in San Diego the water has always been my second home. I am super passionate about protecting our oceans and understanding the damages we are creating to our beautiful sea creatures. my number one goal of this competition is not to benefit me, but to spread my message and ideas about how we all can protect our oceans. I will be able to use my art of pastry to create a modern visual of solutions regarding the elimination of plastic and waste inside out oceans.
To fully focus on this competition and my designs, I made the hardest decision of my life which was to give up my executive pastry job. This is my new dream. I have always believed if you are passionate about a topic and you have a dream that you will achieve it and find a way. I did not only do this for the competition but to hopefully open up more doors to opportunity for my future. Doing this I have already been able to create pastry tutorials on a YouTube channel called Sugar Geek Show and I am also featured on the Netflix show Bake Squad.
The U.S is my home. I have spent more of my career here than in France which is why I am truly honored to represent my country and all of you for this competition. I have been blessed to be able to meet the people I have throughout this journey and take the opportunities iv been given. It’s been a very emotional and rewarding project , but to ease the financial stress it has severely caused me I am in need of support. For this competition I have to financially provide everything for myself. This includes equipment, Ingredients, housing, food and more. With any support possible, you can take me to the finals to become the first ever U.S World Chocolate Master and follow my vision.
