On Friday the 21st of Feb our special friends Kirsty and Steve were due to get married after a year of planning their special day.. on the morning of the wedding Kirsty was at the wedding venue about to start getting ready and then suddenly was taken ill with severe vomiting and stomach pains, this then led to her becoming dangerously poorly and 999 was called and arrived quickly after the call was made.

After calling Steve, he rushed over to the venue to be with her and she was then taken by amberlance, as her guests were starting to arrive, to hospital for further investigations.

It has now come to light that due to an operation she had nearly a year ago for a hernia, the mesh which was fitted had become misplaced and wrapped itself around her stomach. Kirsty is now waiting for endoscopy procedure tomorrow to confirm what the CT scan said and then an operation to put it right.

To say this has been totally devastating for her and Steve is an understatement. All the months of hard work, money and planning of the wedding to the last tiny detail, for it to be taken away from them, is totally unthinkable.

Due to it happening on the day, the venue was unable to refund the wedding costs and therefore Kirsty and Steve lost their special day.

As everyone will know, weddings are one of the most stressful, costly occasions and your heart and soul goes into it. We as their friends and family are completely heartbroken for them and want to help to raise the funds to plan them another wedding which they so deserve.

If anyone can spare any amount of money to help make this happen, we would be so so grateful and I know it would mean the world to them.

We will continue to add updates to the page on how Kirsty is and pray she has a quick recovery from what has been an awful time for her and Steve.
