On the burst for Eugowra
Donation protected
On November 14 2023 the small town of Eugowra was decimated by a freak weather event no one was prepared for. Almost 85% of the town was affected and tragically two lives were lost. The support received by the Australian community was amazing however we were warned that we would quickly be forgotten about... how true this is! It is now the Eugowra Olden Eagles (Old Boys football club) mission to reverse this so we are going to work our butts off to raise $500k for Eugowra. The Eugowra Olden Eagles have been painting residents homes. We have been purchasing the paint and tools to get the job done and with some amazing volunteers will continue to do this to help residents with costs, work and get them living in a comfortable freshly painted home. Residents are still living in caravans, in other towns and in temporary accommodation so part of this money will be going to the GIVIT fund which supplies whitegoods, beds and furniture to get people back in their homes. Eugowra doesn't have the pub with no beer.... it is the town with no pub! The Fat Lamb Hotel burnt to the ground 10 years ago and now the Central Hotel has been extensively damaged by water. The Central Hotel has sponsored Eugowra Rugby League for almost 100 years and has been owned by a local family for the same amount of time. It has the only hotel style accommodation in town, it employs cooks, cleaners and is a hub for the community. We want to get the Central back up and running as quickly as possible.
We are also holding an event on March 18 in Forbes. The Masters of the Mandagery with rugby league, music and food to raise more funds for the Eugowra community.
