About our film

Hey! I’m Emily Mutimer - an LA-based, Australian born filmmaker and actor, and I'm Hope Rogers - an LA-based, UK born filmmaker and actor. We are currently seeking funding for a short comedic film we have written called On the 7th Day I Was Late to Spin Class. It’s about a heartbroken girl who stumbles upon her own funeral after a week-long bender.

On the 7th Day I Was Late to Spin Class takes a comedic approach on how we deal with pain and the repercussions our actions have. The protagonist’s decision to numb her sorrows via drugs and alcohol is a fleeting attempt - one many of us have tried before. It seems like the simple solution to the protagonist. But her actions instead leave her in a perpetual state of even more inescapable pain and regret.

WHY?

As a filmmaker one of our passions is to encourage people to fullfill their dreams no matter how difficult it may seem. Our short film reminds viewers that even when one is in their own personal hell you should never just give up. Our characters learn that life shouldn’t be taken for granted.
