On Monday 5th April 2021, we suddenly lost our beloved friend Zaid Zeray Russom. Zaid was a bubbly, caring individual who was well known in the community in Liverpool. She was known for her kindness and willingness to go the extra mile to help others.
Unfortunately her passing has come suddenly and unexpectedly. She was a healthy young lady with a 10 year old son whom she was raising alone. Zaid had gone to the shops when she suddenly collapsed and within half an hour she sadly passed away.
Her son is distraught at her loss. We are all struggling to come to terms with this sadness.
Zaid left behind her home country of Eritrea to flee persecution there. However, she has no family in the UK other than her young son. It is Zaid’s family’s wish that her body as per cultural tradition is laid to rest in her home country, Eritrea.

In order to fulfill this wish, we kindly ask for donations to allow for Zaid to be returned to Eritrea where she can be laid to rest.
